But What About Kidney Problems?
Another of conventional wisdom’s beliefs: eating too much protein will damage your kidneys. There is not the evidence to back this up that you might think. There is a bit of evidence that if your kidneys are already damaged that excess protein consumption (what does excess even mean anyway?) might further the problem. However, the human body adapted to be able to eat large doses of protein, both at one sitting and over long periods of time. The kidneys are no exception.
