Saluting The Desert Sun

Got a chance to take a very rare mid week vacation and it was fan-tastic. My family headed to Palm Desert for a few days and had a great time relaxing, swimming and just hanging out.

Times like this always reinforce the benefit of taking time off, recharging and reconnecting with each other and the world.

To say “thanks” and to symbolize my feelings on our last day I went outside onto the grass and did a few Sun Salutations. Now, I am no Yogi but I think Sun Salutations are a fantastic exercise/stretch and a great way to wake up your body to start the day. To salute the sun, the source of light and life, is a great feeling. The cool morning air, the slight dewy grass under my feet and the sun on my skin. Connection.

Make sure to take some time off every once in a while, enjoy life and the sun.

Thanks for reading, have a great sun saluting week!

P.S. If you’re not familiar with a Sun Salutation, also known as Surya Namaskara, click here for the Wikipedia entry.
