Fortified foods are not the same as whole foods.
Nutrition science and nutritionism are new sciences. Use them for information but do not get caught up in the world of vitamins, minerals, fiber and particularly causation. There is much to be proven and way more that we don’t know than what we do know. It is very important that we, as researchers and health practitioners, say “the evidence supports the hypothesis” and not “we are right” or “this is true.”

Vote with your dollars. If you request and buy quality food, stores and restaurants will carry it. If you shop at farmers markets they will continue to exist. If you ask farmers for certain foods and buy them, they will be available.

If you get a high from a food, you may have an allergy to it. Your body could be craving the adrenaline release you get in dealing with the stress from eating it.
Olive oil: Get a good one and store it properly. Many are infused with soybean or canola oil. If you are not sure of the quality or source, do some research. Check out this post from Primal Toad on how to determine if your olive oil is real or fake. I get mine from Kasandrinos Imports. Straight from the family farm in Greece. Store in a dark bottle, cool and airtight. Light, heat and air can all oxidize your oil and turn it from a nourishing food to an inflammatory one. Use it mostly as a condiment or topping, try not to heat it.
