Like most people we are always on the lookout for good recipes, particularly ones that are kid friendly. Here are a few that we’ve come across in the last few weeks that I thought would be nice to share…
Berry Pancake Souffle
A couple weeks ago, my wife was visiting some friends up in Seattle and they made this for breakfast one morning. When she came back she basically said “we need to try this recipe.” So this morning we did and it was fantastic. Simple, tasty and the boys liked it. Winner in our book. The link above takes you to the site we used, which also links to the original recipe source.
Pork Chops & Apple Sauce
We tried this about two years ago but managed to somehow forget about it and then rediscovered it recently. After some apple picking this weekend, Sunday dinner was the perfect time to untilize our fresh Winesap apples. Another kid approved meal, this is also simple and quite tasty. There are probably thousands of different recipes for pork chops and apples but this is the one we have used with good results. We even had leftovers which we had the next day! (*We don’t add raisins and it turns out just fine.)
Gluten Free Apple Crisp
For desert, we used our freshly picked apples for this and it turned out fantastic. I’m not an experienced apple crisp eater but this is the best version I have had. Another simple but very tasty recipe.
Let me know if you try any of these and what you think…
Thanks for reading, have a great day!
P.S. We also tried a garlic and shallot chicken with brown sugar that was pretty good and as soon as I can find that recipe I will add it to the recipe section too.
